From savoring delicious Pasteis de Natas to exploring iconic landmarks like Belem Tower, Jeronimos Monastery, and the historic Tram 28, with a side of immersive history and local culinary delights at Quake and Ze da Mourira
Mentioned on 8 lists
Pateis de Belem
Pasteis de Belem are famous for their Pasteis de Natas. If you're in Lisbon, you must try this delicacy.
Belem Tower
Belem Tower is basically the symbol of Lisbon. It's quite the sight up close, from the train, or from the river if you're boating.
Jeronimos Monastery
Quake Exhibit
Quake is an immersive private exhibit based on the big Lisbon earthquake of 1755. It costs about 30 euros, but it was one of the coolest exhibits I've been to.
Tram 28
Tram 28 is very sought out by tourists because it has been around since the 1930's and rides by most of the big tourist attrcations. The tram starts at Martim Moniz and ends at Campo Ourique. Becasue of the lines to get on the tram, I suggest starting at the end at Campo Ourique as there are shorter wait times.
Ze da Mourira
Ze da Mourira is the best spot in Lisbon for Codfish. Be sure to make reservations because this local spot is always very busy and is quite small. Each meal is made for two people.
From treasure hunting at the sprawling Feira de Ladra to capturing stunning aerial views of Lisbon's historic buildings and indulging in mouthwatering pasta at Portas do Sol, my Lisbon adventure was a delightful blend of shopping, sightseeing, and culinary delights.
Feira da Ladra(Campo de Santa Clara)
Feira de Ladra is a giant flea market with some items used, some new. They sell clothes, tools, jewelry, sunglasses, etc.. The list is never ending and the prices are all across the board. I bought a few things myself.
Miradouro de Santa Luzia
A well known spot for views of old lisbon buildings from above. A great landscape picture opportunity.
Portas do Sol Restaurante
I ate lunch at Portas do Sol, which is right next to Miradiuro de Santa Luiza. Their pasta is to die for!
Largo Portas de Sol
Largo Portas de Sol is also another viewpoint of part of the city. Also by Largo Portas de Sol.
SEEN
SEEN is a rooftop bar. You can sit at the outdoor bar freely or you can reserve seating to eat but there is a minimum of 50 euros per person
I had a fantastic breakfast at Breakfast Lovers Mericordia, rode the Bica Funicular for tram photos, glimpsed the closed cathedral, enjoyed gelato, and savored a unique Mexican-Japanese fusion dining experience.
Breakfast Lovers Mericordia
The best breakfast I've had in a very long time is at Breakfast Lovers Mericordia. I had their bowl of fruit, fresh squeezed orange juice, and the eggs benedict.
Bica Funicular
Bica Funicular is a great way to take photos with the infamous yellow trams you see riding around Lisbon. It rides up the street, stops for 10 minutes, and then descends back down. It only costs 3-4 euros, but once you descend, if there's a line to ascend, you must get off and wait in the line.
Saint Catherine's Cathedral
I was excited to check out this cathedral, but unfortunately it was closed so I only got a good look from the outside.
Gelato
Took a little break from walking and got myself some gelato. Every day is gelato day!
Mexico meets Japan
Mexico meets Japan is one of the coolest experiences I've had at a restaurant. The chef takes pride in the appearance and taste of the dishes he serves. The servers recommend how to order based off of the intentions of the chef and how the menu was designed. The food is unique and very tasty! Highly recommend.
