LODGING

Hostel World

HostelWorld

This is one of my favorite apps to use when traveling internationally and on a budget. Hostels are shared spaces with solo travelers, groups of friends, and couples. You’ll find co-ed, female, and male shared rooms. Some also have private rooms you can book. In most cities, you have a big variety of hostels to choose from. They provide traveler ratings for each hostel including: cleanliness, security, atmosphere, staff, location, value for money, and facilities.

GETTING AROUND

Uber

Uber

Uber is a rideshare app that has been around for quite some time now and has quite literally been a lifesaver more than once. Ubers to the airport, an event, a tourist attraction, to work when your car breaks down, etc.. It is great for traveling when you need to get around, but can’t rent a car. It’s very likely you find uber in big cities, but if you’re planning on going to an island or a place a bit more off the grid, double check. Always plan ahead, never assume.
Bolt

Bolt

Another rideshare app. If you’re in Europe or Africa, check out Bolt! You may find it to be cheaper than Uber.

CLOTHES / GEAR

Amazon

Amazon

Who doesn’t love Amazon? I use this for almost anything from hair accessories, skincare, clothing, shoes, etc.. and 9/10 times it doesn’t disappoint. Even if it does, it is so easy to make returns. This is definitely my go-to for travel gear!
